Register to vote in Florida

Some individuals may not realize that you need to register first before you are able to vote in the State of Florida. To sign up to vote in Florida, you will have to follow these procedures:

For starters, determine if you are able to vote in Florida. The individual:

Must be a US citizen, Must be a resident of the State of Florida, Must be at least 18 years old(pre-registration to vote is allowed if you are 16 years old), Must NOT be judged mentally incapacitated, Must NOT have been convicted of a felony without your civil rights having been restored, Must provide a valid existing Florida drivers license or ID card, or Must provide the last four digits of your SSN if you do not have a Florida drivers license or ID card. Instead of these items you need to check the space indicated on the registration form as NONE.

Those that meet the criteria, you’ll then want to complete a Florida voter registration application. Complete the Voter Registration Application. Complete all fields. Print the application out. Ensure all information on your application is provided. The place you register, your SSN, Drivers license number and ID card number are confidential and are used just for registration requirements. Sign the application. Your original signature is needed because you are swearing and/or affirming to an oath. Send your application to your trusty county Supervisor of Elections. You can opt to mail or deliver by hand your application to any Supervisor of Elections office in the state, the DMV, a registration agency, an armed forces office, or the Division of Elections office.

Lots of people question whether or not they need to find a florida notary public to notarize the application. As of the date of this short article, notarizing isn’t obligatory. If this is a new registration application in Florida, the date the completed application is postmarked or hand delivered to a drivers license office, a voter registration agency, an armed forces recruitment office, the Division of Elections, or the office of any supervisor of elections in the state is going to be your registration date. You have to be registered for at least twenty nine days before you can vote in an election. If the application is complete and you become certified as a voter, a voter information card will be mailed to you. Be sure to carefully check the application.
